Several of us went to support Alaynah at the performances of Westlake High's Guys and Dolls. Our very own, Alaynah, was superb in the lead role as Sarah Brown. It was so great to see her in her element.

We Believe . . . A Banner Night

We had a stake-wide activity tonight at the church. Each ward got to create a banner using this year's mutual theme of the 13th Article of Faith and then present a one-minute skit, joke, chant or cheer. It was pretty brave of the stake leaders to give the youth so much paint . . . some of it actually ended up on the banners.

Then our banner transformed into darkness with "We Believe" as the light shining through . . . nice job!

For our skit, Jannelle's friend DJ represented as the "Old Spice Guy" with a fun and clever skit that literally brought the house down with laughter. Our Stake Presidency judges said it "cracked them up". They loved it and we won the "Mad Hatter" award of the night. Well deserved!

Etiquette Night

This Tuesday our combined activity was an Etiquette Night. We started in the Relief Society Room being taught by Brother and Sister Tidball learning about everything from dining etiquette to cell phone and dating etiquette. Who can forget Sister Tidball talking about the spoon as the prince with the sword as the knife pointing toward the princess forks. It was great! Then we headed to the Cultural Hall divided up at different tables and put our new knowledge to the test. We started off setting the table and getting points for doing it correctly. There were other skill tests and conversation questions throughout the night. We enjoyed a yummy dinner starting with Caesar salad, then a meal of ham, cheesy potatoes, green beans and soft rolls, and ending with an ooey gooey chocolate cake. We learned a lot and had so much fun together.

New Beginnings: Sugar and Spice

In February, we had our New Beginnings with the theme of, "Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice: That's What the Values Are Made Of". We focused on the meaning of each of the values, introduced the new Personal Progress tracking system on lds.org and went over calendar items for the upcoming year. We are so proud of everything that our young women are doing!

For our combined activity in January we took a trip to the ice-skating rink at Seven Peaks. From the beginners to the experts, everyone had a great time!
