Girls Camp - Day 3

We started out the day with a heartfelt devotional by Chandi and Kynz. Then we had some solo time to write in our journals.

The original plan was for water games, but the cold wind and random rain put a literal damper on those plans. Instead, we played a fun group game with Brother Zirker and Brother Price. We were divided into teams with one team on each side of the house. Then the first team to go calls out "Annie Annie Over!" and throws the ball over the house. The other team tries to catch the ball as it comes over the house. Next the team throws the ball back over the house and calls out "Annie Annie Over!" if you fail to catch the ball. Sneak around the house and throw the ball at the other members of the team if you have caught the ball. You go over to the other team if you are hit by the ball of that team. If the ball fails to hit a player, it becomes the other teams turn to throw the ball over.

Jasmine, Natalie, and of course, the yummy cheese balls

Jannelle and Mariah figuring out creative ways to use bandana fabric. They could start a business with their cute woven headbands.

Daily Schedule. . . which we kept a little loose depending on the weather.

Brother and Sister Zirker with Chloe. Love how Brother Zirker is outfitted in his pink camo. Sister Zirker and Chloe have their custom woven headbands.

We decorated navy blue pillowcases with our theme of camp, "Anchored at Sea" and our names and the year of camp. Then, just like yearbooks, we signed each others pillowcase. It will be a great memory of our time together at camp.

Pearl, Kynz and Alaynah - Pearl showed us how to make bandana bracelets . . . so much fun!

We were all on colored teams as a way to divide up the work for meal prep and clean up.

One of our crafts was hair braiding and friendship bracelets. Here is Brother Zirker and Maddie learning how to braid on Sister Price's hair. Jannelle and Mariah in the background were great teachers. Kudos to Brother Zirker for getting involved in all of the camp activities.

Keeley had to work and wasn't able to come to camp. We made her a pillowcase with messages to let her know how much we love and miss her. Keeley is always the song and cheer leader. Luckily, she was still able to make our camp songbooks with classics such as "Baby Shark", "Noah", and "Princess Pat".

After the Bishopric came, they got involved in the activities around camp. Here is Bishop Campos and Brother Zirker battling in ping pong up in the loft.

Turns out the Bishop was a ringer for "Skip It". With four daughters, he's gotten pretty good at this game and demonstrated his skills.

The Beehives are ready to rock their skit. Love Paytene's hair.

Maddie, Sam, Juliana, Jessica and Paytene

After a yummy spaghetti dinner with the Bishopric, we got to watch and participate in group skits. The Beehives started things off and really got us laughing.

Next up were Allie, Jayden, Natalie, Jannelle and Mariah with a skit inspired by the Titanic. Turns out the leaders had a similar idea. Great minds think alike.

We love the Priesthood for putting together a skit on their own . . . even if it was making a little fun of us at camp. And the skit ended up abruptly since they didn't know how a Girls Camp ends. It was great and kept us rolling with laughter.

Kynz, Alaynah, Pearl, Jasmine and Chandi did fun skit about bully's and bully targets

The Bishopric brought us delicious doughnuts which were a real treat after the skits. Then we started our evening devotional with Jasmine and Natalie . . . and the tears started flowing then. Next we were able to hear from Brother and Sister Zirker and the story of how they met as well as sharing how Sister Zirker joined the church. Sister Zirker went through so much to finally be able to be baptized. She talked to us about how lucky we are to have the gospel in our lives and the hope that we will never take it for granted and that we will realize and appreciate what we have. It was an emotional testimony that we all learned from That led us to our favorite part of camp - sharing our testimonies. After experiencing challenges, working hard and playing together over the week - we strengthen our own testimonies in the sharing of them as well as being strengthened by each other. We ended hours later with tears and hugs and love for each other. Let's hope that we can always remember how unified we are and can be and to strengthen ourselves and each other.

During our first night's devotional, Sister Bird gave each young woman a necklace to wear with a charm of an anchor to remember our camp theme and the importance of anchoring ourselves deep in the gospel to withstand the waves and whirlwinds of the world. The second charm says "I Believe" to remind ourselves that we do believe and that we are examples of the believers.
