WE BELIEVE! Stake Youth Conference - Day 2 - Barn Dance

We ended Day 2 with a barn dance at the McGregor family home. The barn was decorated with the banners we had made at the stake activity a few months ago as well as lots of lights. The dance was a lot of fun and a great way to end a fantastic day!

WE BELIEVE! Stake Youth Conference - Day 1

June 9-11 was our Stake Youth Conference. Our theme is "We Believe" and the scripture references are Alma 20:4, Alma 24:19, and Alma 46:20-21. We all met at the church, registered and got our matching shirts that said "We Believe" in many different languages. The Chinese words down the side said, "I'm a Believer". The Opening Social was a dinner of sloppy joes, salads, chips and drinks. Then we were divided into teams for Minute to Win It challenges that were a lot of fun and a great way to get us all working together.

Seminary Graduation!

2011 Seminary Graduates - Tristan, Jannelle, Amy and Keeley

The power had been out for hours and the graduation took place at the church in the dark with only the light from the windows streaming in. But, it was so great to have our ward represented with these phenomenal youth. Congratulations on a big accomplishment.

Family History Library Activity

With our goal of going to the temple more, we had a great combined activity at the Riverton Family History Library, learning how to find names to do temple work for. We started with information about how to use New Family Search and then we got to go into the incredible library and get to work. The Riverton location is new and loaded with lots of computers for everyone. Brother Bare inspired the youth to get their 5-generation group chart done ahead of time . . . and those that did were treated to an ice cream sandwich. Having that information was a big help in starting to search, edit and add relatives. Thanks to Brother Bare, Sister Cortez and Brother Williams for assisting at the library.

Sam is already way ahead on her family history

Jasmine and Natalie . . . who was a little overwhelmed with all of the wonderful opportunities she has to search for her family.

Awesome App

For those with an iPhone or an iPod Touch . . . the church has come out with an amazing app. Go to www.lds.org.youth and download the free app for videos, music, thoughts, and all sorts of things for FREE. This would be a great help for preparing a talk, a lesson, a devotional or just some individual study on your own. New content is added every Friday. Love this!!!
