Etiquette Night

This Tuesday our combined activity was an Etiquette Night. We started in the Relief Society Room being taught by Brother and Sister Tidball learning about everything from dining etiquette to cell phone and dating etiquette. Who can forget Sister Tidball talking about the spoon as the prince with the sword as the knife pointing toward the princess forks. It was great! Then we headed to the Cultural Hall divided up at different tables and put our new knowledge to the test. We started off setting the table and getting points for doing it correctly. There were other skill tests and conversation questions throughout the night. We enjoyed a yummy dinner starting with Caesar salad, then a meal of ham, cheesy potatoes, green beans and soft rolls, and ending with an ooey gooey chocolate cake. We learned a lot and had so much fun together.

New Beginnings: Sugar and Spice

In February, we had our New Beginnings with the theme of, "Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice: That's What the Values Are Made Of". We focused on the meaning of each of the values, introduced the new Personal Progress tracking system on lds.org and went over calendar items for the upcoming year. We are so proud of everything that our young women are doing!

For our combined activity in January we took a trip to the ice-skating rink at Seven Peaks. From the beginners to the experts, everyone had a great time!

Relief Society Nursery Duty

It was the Young Women's turn to help with a nursery during the monthly Relief Society meeting. Thanks to Sam, Jayden and Kynz who helped out with the 11 kids we had. We enjoyed making a Valentine mobile with the kids, watching Toy Story 3 and of course, some treats. Austin was so fast that he made a 2nd project, a Leprechaun puppet. We had a lot of fun with the kids.

Return of Priest and Laurel Date Night

We are pretty excited to have Priests again so that we can hold our "Date Nights" with the Laurels. We had a great group this month. Tristan made us sweet potato pancakes from his southern roots . . . delicious! Jayden made a brown butter syrup from her family's favorite recipes that made the pancakes even more scrumptious. Keeley taught us the secret of "Wabash Hash". Anything that has hash browns, bacon, cheese and eggs in it has to be good . . . and it was. After making our breakfast for dinner, we competed in a Gospel Family Feud game. Each team was pretty close to the end until Natalie's friend, Jacob, came up with a winning answer of "Green Jello" to the question, "What is something you have at a youth fireside." It was an amazing win and we had a lot of fun together. Can't wait to do it again!
